Designed for intermediate practitioners, this workshop will delve deeply into the technical and philosophical aspects of the Gote, preparing you for advanced practices, including suspension.
Workshop Overview:
Lesson 1: Technical Mastery
-Introduction to the Gote: Understanding the history and significance of the Gote in shibari.
-Step-by-Step Instruction: Detailed guidance on creating a secure and aesthetically pleasing Gote.
-Rope Tension and Friction: Techniques to achieve perfect tension and secure frictions, ensuring safety and comfort.
-Hands-On Practice: Extensive practice with personalized feedback to refine your technique.
Lesson 2: Advanced Techniques and Philosophy
-Philosophical Underpinnings: Exploring the deeper meaning and intentions behind the Gote.
-Advanced Adjustments: Fine-tuning the Gote for different body types and purposes.
-Preparation for Suspension: Tips and tricks to transition from floor work to suspension safely.
Requirements:
-Participants should have a solid understanding of shibari basics, including single column ties, tension, and friction techniques.
-A minimum of four 8-meter lengths of natural fiber rope (jute or hemp recommended).
-Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and tying

-Your own ropes (at least four 8-meter lengths)
-Notebook and pen for taking notes
